If you live in Watertown, Newton, Cambridge, Belmont, Waltham, neighboring towns or neighborhoods of Boston, including Brighton THE ENTIRE CITY OF BOSTON stay inside your home. Do NOT go to shul (synagogue). All businesses are ordered closed. Universities and schools are closed. There is no public transportation in these areas or in the rest of Boston. Do not open your doors for anyone other than a clearly identified police officer.
For anyone in these areas who may have to say kaddish or who feel a strong religious or social requirement to go to shul, DO NOT DO IT. There is NO heter, no permissibility at all to risk your life or to ignore police orders to stay indoors. Past that, going outside risks the lives of others and can divert needed police presence away from critical work. Do NOT leave your home.
This man [according to NBC and MSNBC at 5:49 am CDT] is 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev (or Tsarnaez), is armed, dangerous and may be very close to you now:
There may be other people working with this man, so report anything suspicious that happens (someone trying to enter your home or creeping through your backyard, for example), even if he or she looks different that the man in the above photo.
His 20-year-old 26-year-old brother was killed last night in a gunfight with police. He was wearing an I.E.D. (bomb) when he was killed.
Both brothers came with their family to the US in 2002 or 2003. The living brother was born in Kyrgyzstan; the dead brother in Russia. (The family appears to be Chechen.)
These are the two Boston Marathon bombers. They are both legal residents of the US. The one pictured above lives in Cambridge.
They may not have been working alone, and other suspects may still be sought.
