Witnesses saw a group of settlers entering the village of Tekoa early
this morning and spray-painting the slogans "price tag,” "stone terror"
and "revenge for Adelle Biton" on the walls of the mosques. Biton is a
Jewish infant who was seriously injured in a stoning attack near the
Jewish settlement of Ariel last month that also injured her mother and
two siblings. The witnesses also say they saw the vandals slash the
tires of several cars.

West Bank Jewish settlers defaced two mosques in a Palestinian village near Bethlehem today, the eve of Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Ha’aretz reports that the settlers allegedly vandalized the mosques in response to Arab stone-throwing attacks on West Bank roads.
Witnesses saw a group of settlers entering the village of Tekoa early this morning and spray-painting the slogans "price tag,” "stone terror" and "revenge for Adelle Biton" on the walls of the mosques. Biton is a Jewish infant who was seriously injured in a stoning attack near the Jewish settlement of Ariel last month that also injured her mother and two siblings. The witnesses also say they saw the vandals slash the tires of several cars.
The baby’s mother Adva Biton said she opposes the vandalism.
“This isn't the way,” she told Ha’aretz.
Tayser Abu Mafrah, who heads the local council in Tekoa, said Jewish settlers in the area have been threatening to avenge the stone-throwing attacks.
"We demand the IDF, the Palestinian Authority and the international community to stop the terror instigated by settlers," Abu Mafrah told Ha’aretz.
Over the past several years, Palestinians, Israeli Arabs and Israeli security forces – along with mosques and churches – have frequently been targets of right wing Jewish settler vandals committing what are known as "price tag" attacks. The alleged principle behind the attacks is to make the Government of Israel pay for concessions made to the Palestinians and the International community by sparking Palestinian violence.
