Two female teachers from Ramat Hasharon, one of them an Arab, were on their way to a shiva house in Jerusalem last Thursday afternoon when they were attacked by haredi teens who stoned their car shattered one of its windows, Ynet reported.
One of the assailants was identified by a victim and was arrested by police.
Later, the two teachers were attacked again and the tires on their damaged car were punctured.
Police believe the attacks were hate crimes that were nationalistically motivated.
The two teachers went to Jerusalem to offer their condolences to their school's principal who had just lost her mother.
"When we stepped out of the vehicle, they began pelting it with stones and throwing oranges at us.…I was called a bitch and… [called] names," Revital Volkov told Ynet. The teachers were also spit on during the attack.
She filed a complaint with the police who took her back to the scene of the attack. She identified one of the haredi attackers, who was then arrested. Police say he later confessed to the crimes.
Volkov says she was attacked again later after leaving the principal's house.
"I slowed down at the junction and two youths jumped on the car and cut my tires," she said.
Police were then called to the scene again.
No other arrests have yet been made.
