Residents of Tel Aviv woke up today to the sight of a severed goat’s head sitting in the center of Dizengoff Square. Next to it was a sign calling for an “end [to] animal slaughter," Ha'aretz reported.
A severed cow’s head was found in north Tel Aviv net to a sign protesting slaughterhouses and animal slaughter.

Police believe animal rights activists are responsible for the incidents.
Israel has been rocked over the past year by a series of animal mistreatment scandals linked to kosher slaughterhouses. Israel's haredi-controled state-funded chief rabbinate, which controls the kosher supervision at those facilities, has been slow to react to the problems.
By law, most meat sold in Jewish areas of Israel is kosher slaughtered, even though many Israeli consumers do not keep kosher.
