A non-Jewish boy and his family move away from an area in the US with an extremely large haredi population to a distant area where haredim are almost nonexistent. And with that move comes a lesson.

My son has a new friend in high school. The boy's family relocated from [an area with a large haredi population] to [and area with a tiny haredi population] this past September. When my son’s new friend found out that we are Jewish, he was shocked.
"I thought all Jews dressed in black and were crazy! We moved after my mother was attacked for wearing short pants outside. They threw rocks at her!,” the Gentile boy exclaimed.
There is a lesson here for haredim and the wider Jewish community to learn.
Unfortunately, I doubt either will learn it.
