When asked about the censorship, Hamodia said that the paper allows the publication of photos of accessories such as handbags, but it censors feminine clothing items including shoes – even if no one is wearing them – due to modesty reasons.

The Gerrer hasid-owned newspaper Hamodia published a story the other day about a baby who pulled open the bottom drawer of a dresser, blocking the the door to the room where he was crawling. The baby fell asleep and the door could not be opened. The fire department had to be called to rescue the baby, who was found sleeping next to the open drawer.
Hamodia was given a picture of the sleeping baby as he was found.
But Ynet reports that the hasidic newspaper refused to post the picture as was due to “modesty concerns.”
So the paper did what it always does in such situations – it used photoshop to remove the immodest parts of the photograph.
What were the immodest parts?
Women’s shoes.
Not women’s shoes being worn by a woman. Not stiletto heels or Manalo Blanack mules.
Plain old used women’s flats.
When asked about the censorship, Hamodia said that the paper allows the
publication of photos of accessories such as handbags, but it censors feminine
clothing items including shoes – even if no one is wearing them – due to modesty reasons.
A few months ago, Hamodia reported on a serious road accident caused by driver striking a wild boar. Hamodia refused to name the animal, however, because wild boars – and their domestic cousin the pig – are not kosher animals.
