Russian Jewish Oligarch Sues Chabad's Chief Rabbi

Billionaire oligarch Arcadi Gaydamak is suing Chabad's Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar for $1 million over Lazar's role in helping Chabad oligarch Lev Leviev allgedly steal billions of dollars from Gaydamak.

 

Long before Gaydamk's issues with Lazar, long before his fake Auschwitz medal or his abuse of non-Chabad Orthodox rabbis in the FSU, evenlong before I left Chabad, Lazar was known in informed Chabad circles as a Mafioso, a corrupt thug.

That doesn't mean that Lazar is culpable here.

But it does mean that his complete innocence in this matter is unlikely.
