Known as the dean of scholars in his fields, Frank Moore Cross was the Hancock Professor of Hebrew and Other Oriental Languages Emeritus at Harvard University, the third oldest endowed chair in the United States. He was best known for his work on the Dead Sea Scrolls, for his 1973 work Canaanite Myth and Hebrew Epic, and for his work in Northwest Semitic epigraphy. He passed away Tuesday.
Biblical Archaeology Society's magazine has a free e-book of their many interviews with Cross. You can download that here.
