East Ramapo schools reportedly told haredi community leaders that using the grounds of the Gransview elementary school as a shortcut to and from their synagogues or for any other reason must stop immediately.
"We spoke to community people and said, 'Don't walk through the grounds,' " East Ramapo School Superintendent Joel Klein told Newsday. "People called and we called residents, religious people, a whole collection of people, to remind them."
The schools consider trespassing by anyone to a security risk that poses a danger to students.
