A forensic psychiatrist says a Rabbi Victor Koltun is faking symptoms of mental illness to avoid his murder-for-hire trial. Alan Tuckman reportedly testified at a hearing Friday that Koltun was "malingering."
Koltun allegedly hired two felons to kill an ex-cop and the ex-cop’s nephew in Newburgh, New York two years ago.
"Mr. Koltun's presentation bore no resemblance whatsoever to any mental disease or defect. It was very clear to me that I wasn't getting accurate information from him at all, and that he was toying with me in a very manipulative way,” Tuckman told the court.
The hearing on Kolton’s competency is scheduled to resume on September 7. Koltun is being held without bail.
