Hassan Rian, 27, was injured by a Molotov cocktail that was allegedly thrown by a haredi settler at the cab he was riding in on the West Bank Thursday.
"We blame the State of Israel for this situation because they allow the haredim to attack us. We demand that the perpetrators responsible for this incident be prosecuted.…We also want to be protected from the settlers who want to harm us,” Rian told Ynet today.
Six Palestinians were injured in the attack, one seriously. Four are members of the same family.
Jamila Riada, 30, has burns and other injuries to her face and to both hands. Her husband Ayan has more serious burns and is in a coma. The Riada’s two young children were also injured. One has been released from the hospital. The other is still hospitalized with burns.
"I saw him before he threw the Molotov cocktail, but I didn't expect it would hit us [but it did],” she told Ynet. “Suddenly we saw fire inside the car.”
Haredim now make up about one third of the Jewish population of the West Bank.
