Charges Against Accused Chabad Pedophile Dropped

Charges against Aron “Ezzy” Kestecher, accused of four counts of indecent acts on a child under 16, have now been dropped, Ha’aretz reported this morning.
Kestecher, now 27-years-old, was a leader in Chabad’s youth organization in Melbourne, Australia.
The reason for the charges being dropped was not reported.
Kestecher's case was not directly related to the charges against David Cyprys, who will stand trial early next year on more than 40 counts of child rape and molestation, or that of David Kramer, who may be extradited from the US to stand trial in Melbourne.
Cyprys, a Chabad follower who worked at Chabad's Yeshiva Centre as a security guard and martial arts teacher, has previously pleaded guilty to a molestation related charge. He has 12 alleged victims vetted by police who are prepared to testify against him.
Kramer, who taught in Chabad's school, was allegedly helped to flee Australia by the head of Chabad there, Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Groner, when strong allegations of child sexual abuse surfaced. He eventually was arrested in the US, where he affiliated with a non-Chabad Orthodox synagogue and school. He was convicted of child molestation there, and served a seven-year prison term. Australia is now attempting to extradite him.
Along with allegedly helping Kramer flee Australia, Groner allegedly failed to warn Jewish communities about Kramer. That failure enabled Kramer's American crimes.
Groner also allegedly served as Cyprys' protector, shielding him from complaints made by parents and victims alike.
Despite public statements to the contrary made by its leaders, police say Chabad has refused to cooperate with the investigation into Cyprys' alleged crimes, and the only alleged victim whose name is public has faced harassment from Chabad, as has his family.
