Monday was the yartzeit of the Skvere Rebbe's father, and hundreds of Skvere hasidim flocked to the gravesite to pray. This large sign greeted them:
The sign asks hasidim to pray for Shaul Spitzer, New Square arsonist and attempted murderer, who is being sentenced on arson charges early next month.
Spitzer almost murdered New Square dissident Aron Rottenberg and Rottenberg's family last year when he tried to burn down Rottenberg's house while the family slept. Aron Rottenberg was seriously burned in the attack.
Skvere has held several prayer rallies for Spitzer and posted small paper signs around New Square urging people to join them. Nothing like that was done for Rottenberg, even when he was in excruciating pain and in critical condition. And no large billboard-like signs were made for Rottenberg, either.
More pictures of prayers at the gravesite and the meal that followed afterward in New Square on JDN.
