In a letter pubished today on the front page of the Israeli Yated Ne'eman newspaper he controls, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv banned reading Mishpacha Magazine or helping it in any way. He says Mishpacha "distorts and obscures" the Torah. At the same time, rabbis in Williamsburg, Brooklyn banned Mishpacha along with Hamodia and Bina.
Also new today is a Williamsburg ban against Mishpacha Magazine, Homodia newspaper abd Bina:
All these publications are linked to the Gerrer hasidic movement.
Ger hasidim are the mortal enemies of the Sicarii gang in Israel and of Eidah Charedit, the ultra-haredi Mea-Shearim-based umbrella organization.
Satmar hasidim dominate Williamsburg and are linked to Eidah Charedit.
Details on Rabbi Elyashiv's ban in Hebrew on Bechadrei Haredim.
