MSNBC just reported this. No film or details yet.
I'll update as soon as I get fresh information.
Update 9:10 am CDT – Apparently the compound was not breached, but the embassy was attacked by several hundred pro-regime demonstrators who hurled eggs, tomatoes and rocks at the building and shouted anti-American slogans.
The same thing happened at the French embassy.
Yesterday, the US ambassador and French ambassador visited Hama, the site of serious repression by the regime and the site of the slaughter of 10,000 to 20,000 people by Assad's father's troops in the early 1980s.
Today's violence is thought to be a response to that visit.
