Criminal investigation of sexual abuse allegations begins.

Police are reportedly opening a criminal investigation of sexual abuse allegations made against Rabbi Mordechai "Motti" Elon, Channel 10 reported on Wednesday.
The investigation came after police reportedly found a former student of Elon's that accused the Rabbi, once the head of the Kotel Yeshiva, of abuse. Police expect to present their findings to the state attorney within a few weeks.
It had previously been reported that the police opened an investigation. However, over the past six months, they were checking if Elon had consensual relations with adult students or whether there was a criminal act, Channel 10 reported.
The allegations against Elon came to light in February, after Takana, a rabbinical forum that investigates allegations of sexual abuse in the religious community, posted a message on its Web site demanding that Elon step down from all rabbinical, teaching and community responsibilities and saying he was a threat to the public.
Two days later, Takana posted a statement that Elon had been accused of having sexual relations with male students in the past.
Also in February, Takana member Rabbi Yuval Cherlow told Army Radio that Elon had admitted to the acts during an emergency meeting, adding that the rabbi’s confession was documented in the forum’s protocol. Cherlow said that since the accusations against Rabbi Elon had been made public, 10 other students of the rabbi had filed complaints against him to the forum.
