Today is the last day of the scheduled session for the NY State Assembly. Survivors ask that you make two calls immediately to help get the Child Victims Act brought to the floor for a vote.
The CVA is currently being blocked by a powerful Catholic Assemblyperson and the Catholic Church.
1. Speaker Sheldon Silver. Thank him for his continued strong support of the Markey bill. Ask Speaker Silver to please make sure the Child Victims Act (Assembly Bill Number A2596) makes it to the Assembly floor for a vote before the session ends today.1-518-455-3791

2. Assemblyman Vito J. Lopez. The second most powerful person in the Assembly is currently blocking the CVA.Remind Assemblyman Lopez that he represents all the people of Brooklyn, including children.
Tell him that he has no right to sacrifice those children for what seems to be profitable land deals with the Catholic Bishop of Brooklyn, Nicholas DiMarzio.
Please call Assemblyman Lopez and ask him to stop blocking the Child Victims Act
Call back a few times over the course of today to see if Assemblyman Lopez has listened to your request and allowed the CVA to come to the floor for a vote.
