Truly remarkable video.

Eight years ago, there were two Jews left in Kabul. I stayed with the cousin of one of them over Shabbat in Riverdale. It was a week or so before Passover, I think.
I don't remember whether or not Zablon Simantov, the Afghani Jew in the NY Times video is this person's cousin, or if the other, older Jew was.
But I do remember we has a long talk about soft Afghanistani matza, fesh and warm, served at Afghanistani seders.
