The Des Moines Register reports:
The chief executive officer of Agriprocessors Inc. will be replaced, according to a press release issued by the company late today.
The announcement comes nearly two weeks after the largest single-site immigration raid in U.S. history which occurred May 12 at the Postville plant.
The company announced today in a press release that Sholom Rubashkin will be replaced after a search for a new chief executive officer is completed.
“The best course of action for the company, its employees, the local community and our customers is to bring new leadership to Agriprocessors,” said Agriprocessors Inc. owner Aaron Rubashkin in the release.
Aaron Rubashkin is Sholom Rubashkin’s father.
The company will also launch its own investigation into the plant, according to the release.
Agriprocessors Inc. spokesman Jim Fallon did not return calls seeking comment on Friday afternoon.
I believe this means that, without this change, the OU would pull its supervision when indictments are – very shortly, I'd guess – handed down.
This also means, I think, that my old friend Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin will, indeed be indicted.
