Two hasidic brothers, Moses Brach, 30, of 182 Lynch Street in Brooklyn, and his brother, Joel Brach, 27, who lived at 137-68th 70th Avenue in Flushing and is now thought to be hiding in Israel, are accused of stealing the home and life savings of an elderly man with dementia.
Moses Brach, who works at his family's fish market located in Borough Park, was arraigned last week on a four count indictment. Both brothers face…
… 15 years in prison if convicted.
The Brach brothers may also be related to hasidic developer Nachman Brach, whose hipster and artist dominated illegal warehouse conversion was evacuated and closed recently due to numerous building and fire code violations, including the illegal storage of a large amount of shmura matzo flour in the building's basement. NYFD officials described the building as a large bomb waiting to explode. Dozens of tenants were left homeless.
One of the principals in the infamous Satmar synagogue brawl of Simchat Torah 2005 is a Jacob Brach. Brach was said to have a prior federal conviction, apparently for a violent criminal act. Are "Moses" and "Joel" (Moshe and Yoel) Brach related?
If you know the genealogical details, please post them in the comments section below. Thank you.
