Haredi Prayer Rally For An Undivided Jerusalem Fizzles

A mass prayer gathering to plead with God to spare us the division of Jerusalem was held Sunday and the Ramban synagogue in the Old City's Jewish Quarter with the endorsement of haredi leader Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. Posters urged all to come and asked people to please bring their own book of psalms – clearly the organizers expected a large turnout.

What happened? According to the Jerusalem Post, 100 haredim attended. (Most were probably Old City residents.)

Maybe we should offer the Palestinians Mea Shearim instead …
