Yes, it can easily be argued they do. Ynet reports:
Infrastructure Minister Benyamin Ben-Eliezer has plans to recruit the first batch of Arab Israelis to the Electric Corp.
"I am hopeful that soon we will relay the work of producing electricity on Shabbat to non-Jewish workers," said Eliezer. "Today, in an era when most systems are automated, it is possible to assign the job to a limited number of workers."
Ben-Eliezer announced his plans to members of the United Torah Judaism faction who have opposed the operation of the company's key facilities by Jewish workers on Shabbat.
The employment of Arab Israeli workers for weekend shifts will end the row between the Infrastructure Ministry and the orthodox party.…
Israel faces threats of large scale terrorism and invasion from the North that would be aided by a massive blackout. Yet, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv and his haredi lackeys are worried about Shabbos? Please. There are numerous responsa allowing the operation of electrical plants on Shabbos by Jews (including one from Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach) due to issues of pekuakh nefesh and for other reasons.
Israel's Arabs (the vast majority, anyway) are not a security threat. Still, the handing over of the nation's power grid seems both foolhardy and completely unnecessary. If we would not turn the air force over to non-Jews on the Sabbath, we should not turn over the power grid, either. But logical, rational thinking has never been a haredi strong point.
