The fight for control of Poneviz yeshiva, the flagship institution in the Israeli non-hasidic haredi world, has gone from fistfights and stabbing to heavy duty violence. Two homemade pipe bombs wee found on the doorstep of one of the competing rosh yeshivas. Ynet reports:
Two makeshift pipe bombs were found at the entrance to the home of yeshiva head Rabbi Haim Shlomo Leibowitz.
Sappers dispatched to the scene neutralized the bombs. Sources close to the rabbi said the incident marked an ‘escalation in the battle for control over the yeshiva.’
