Baruch Dayan HaEmet

Ellen Willis, the journalist who wrote the seminal Rolling Stone article so long ago on the ba'al teshuva movement, has passed away. She was 64 years old. She was a professor of journalism at New York University and also directed the journalism department’s cultural reporting and criticism program, which she founded in 1995. Her husband, Stanley Aronowitz, is a distinguished professor of sociology at the City University of New York and was the Green Party candidate for governor of New York in 2002.
