The grand Siyum HaShas, the Agudath Israel-sponsored event to mark the seven-year completion of learning the entire Babylonian Talmud, has become a battleground in the R. Slifkin Book-Ban Scandal and for the case of the Monsey-based (allegedly) herpes-spreading mohel.
Chakira is reporting that both Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky, a supporter of Rabbi Slifkin, and Rabbi Moshe Dovid Tendler, an opponent of the Monsey Mohel, have been 'disinvited' from tonight's gala event.
Word on the street is that Agudath Israel told both rabbis that their safety at the event could not be ensured.
The thugs have won again.
