Google has been accepting AdWords ads promoting a Hamas 'millitary wing' terror website. After Ynet confronted Google, a Google spokesman told Ynet that the matter had been "dealt" with. Ynet checked. The Hamas ads were still running.
Google has twice banned ads for this website after complaints from Chabad. When we pointed out to Google that everything on FailedMessiah.com is sourced, Google's response was swift and clear: It does not matter.
In response, I asked Google if they were planning on banning ads any of the hundreds of websites that had labeled President Bush a Nazi. Google didn't know how to answer that question, finally coming up with an equivocal "yes." But many of the ads for those sites continued to run.
I then asked Google if a site dedicated to fighting neo-Nazism and the KKK could advertise with AdWords.
"No," Google said. "Any site that advocates against an individual or group" cannot use AdWords.
Unless, it seems, that site is run by Hamas and the targets of the "advocacy" are Israelis.
