Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who died in late 2013, was the most important Sefardi haredi rabbi of his generation. But he also served as Chief Rabbi of Israel in the 1970s, and Mea Shearim's vehemently anti-Zionist haredim have never forgiven him for that, as the following video shot last week on Shushan Purim shows.

Purim just brings out all of the ugliness. It's kind of like when the "Orange Order" marches through Catholic neighborhoods in Northern Ireland to rub in some centuries old military victory.
