See Haredi Schools Through The Cloudy Distorted Lens Of Haredi 'Journalism'

Hamodia in Great Britain published a piece late last year praising Mechinoh School, a haredi school for 11- to 16-year-old boys in the Manchester area. In the piece, Hamodia says the government inspectors praised the school during a snap inspection and even gave the school a donation. But in November, those same inspectors report was released, and it found the school to be "inadequate" in almost all key areas.

In some areas they are judged as "Requires Improvement" rather than "Inadequate". That's pretty good by Haredi school standards.

There is no grade below 4 - Inadequate, their overall score. The 'surprise' inspection is a yearly occurrence and took place just one calendar day removed from the previous year's, for which they also got a 4-inadequate.
Pravda has nothing on Hamodia. There seems to be a
clear and established inverse relationship between
truth in the press and level of frumkeit. Why is that? Can some of the charedi readers enlighten me?

There was one bit of positive in the report. The school has only 60 kids getting this inadequate education.

Haredi yeshivas should just be shut down. Boys come out of them unable to speak English fluently and completely ignorant of e.g. math, science, secular history, music, and art.

And for many of them, their only purpose is to provide sexual outlets for the teachers, rosh yeshivas, etc.

Apparently in frustration that he was unable to communicate to the rabbis running this 'school' what he thought of it's teaching standards, one of the inspector's took a dump on its doorstep. This is the donation referred to in Hamodia and is a special treat these unsuspecting boys are about to be served for 21 kislev.

The business about the donation represents a theme running through all of their apologetics. How many of their stories involve an opponent - a secular Jew, a military officer, a monarch - who is initially antagonistic toward them but is won over by the purity of their lifestyle, the strength of their character and their unassailable presentation of "The Truth"?
