A hasidic coloring sheet on a Torah portion claims "all the [wild] animals came to Egypt, and they devoured the Egyptians. Even from the houses the animals schlepped out the Egyptians and devoured them." Watching in peace as the animals kill the Egyptians are hasidic children.

I know the guy who publishes this "coloring book". He has a salt & pepper beard, and shnors in Flatbush. Wonder how much money, normal thinking people have given him, thinking it goes for Tzedakkah.

I also wonder how many sensitive YOUNG children (it is geared for Kindergarden & Nursery & first grade; above that coloring is bittul Torah) seeing and THEN COLORING this scary insane stuff become affected for life!

Again, most of us realize you're not bright and we're not at all surprised by your public displays of stupidity.

Now process:

Because the average American child has seen X number of violent acts in cartoons and fictional TV shows by the age of 18 does NOT mean the average 6- or 7-year-old American child has seen that number or that the violent acts they have seen are comparable to what older children see.

Past that, the violence the average preschool to first grade child in America sees is minimal. They primarily watch things like Sesame Street, Calliou, etc., which have no violence at all.

The problem, according to the University of Michigan, is that children that young cannot distinguish between fantasy and fiction on one hand and reality on the other. To them, all of it is real.

That's why almost all violence shown kids that age is harmful to some degree – and that includes violence like that shown on the hasidic parsha coloring sheets posted above.

What's most troubling about your responses – besides your hateful attempt to denigrate and smear Jansci using the exact same type of bigotry you fail to notice in these parsha coloring sheets – is that you understand none of this. The horror of this picture is extraordinary.

Teaching small kids that other human beings are lower forms of life, undeserving of empathy, is primitive savage cultures do. Dehumanization is key to brutality and killing that comes with such primitive thought.

This picture is actually what a mass murderer might sketch, since the damaged brain cannot distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate, horror and goodness are the same to the psychopath. Absolute lack of empathy, in this picture demonstrated by the Hasidic youth, is psychotic.

Think about how an Islamic man can enter a shop in France and kill innocents in cold blood. The shop worker who saved the lives of many must not have had this type of coloring book in his youth; he had empathy for the innocent.

The problem here is the importance of this sheet in the child's mental development.

Jewish kids receive this sheet as a true depiction of "Jewish reality", of how things were, how they are and will always be.

A kid who watches a violent movie/game knows that is a fantasy. A kid who receives a sheet based on TORAH teachings, will respect and believe that this is really the truth.

This picture is troubling, but no more so than the text from which it is drawn (copied below). This is exactly the same stuff every Jewish and Christian kid in the country is taught in Sunday school.
