Three hasidim from the Satmar Village of Kiryas Joel, New York were arraigned in federal court Thursday in White Plains Thursday.
29-year-old Yehuda Rubin, his 29-year-old wife Rachel and 30-year-old Joel Koppel all pleaded not guilty. Yehuda Rubin posted a $1 million bond while his wife was released on a $100,000 bond and Joel Koppel was released on a $500,000 bond, the Times Herald-Record reported.
Twelve other Satmar hasidim arrested in the scheme – almost all members of the extended Rubin family of Satmar Aharon faction hasidim – also posted bonds that ranged from to $100,000 up to $1 million each.

The ring members allegedly claimed large incomes for the purpose of getting fraudulent mortgages and defrauding lenders, while at the same time feigning poverty in order to illegally collect welfare benefits, food stamps and money from other government programs.

Well it is nice to verify how wonderful is our nation.. Welfare and food stamps are no longer limited to the poor! An egalitarian utopia.
Equal protection under the law.Without those food stamps the defendants might not have been able to provide the $50,000 T0 $500,000 cash bond. Boruch Hashem
