This is over the top and senseless to post. To compare it with molestation is ridiculous.
99% of those who park there adjacent to Shomer Shabbos come to daven; hence they see the parking thingi thats spits out parking thingis and hence no one is inconvenienced.
Government rules and regs are made for people; people are not made to slave for rules all the time when modification can be made for a week. Even the goyim , the police etc. know that.
So, why FM do you bring this up? Slow news day?
Posted by: Flatbusher | October 30, 2014 at 12:30 PM
Parking regulations are for goyem, not for holy frumma yidden.
Posted by: WoolSilkCotton; I must be seen to be believed | October 30, 2014 at 12:33 PM
Flatbusher - this is illegal under city ordinances. I don't have to be an attorney to know this. Government already makes modifications when it suspends alternate side parking for all religious holidays.
What's next, do you want a percentage of what the machine pulls in?
Posted by: Sarek | October 30, 2014 at 12:34 PM
This is an old picture that went viral a few weeks ago,and admittedly was photoshopped ,I am pretty sure Scotty is aware of this, but hey"it's a slow day down in the sewer, and we cannot let a few hours go by without bashing the charge idiom.
By the way I agree 100%,that building succahs on public property is absolutely disgusting and should be banned, but Shmaryah you don't have to resort to outright lies to make your point
Posted by: JACK | October 30, 2014 at 12:37 PM
Synagogues in New York City have no other place to build their suca except on sidewalks and streets.
Posted by: dovid kahan | October 30, 2014 at 01:10 PM
Jack, this image was not photoshopped and you know it. But look, it is to the benefit of the Shomer Shabbos congregation; all the congregant is doing is participating in making the sidewalk unavailable to pedestrians, i.e. he is doing something other than stealing or molesting children.
Posted by: MarkfromShortHills | October 30, 2014 at 01:18 PM
Actually its obviously photoshopped look how the decorations end halfway at the parking meter
Posted by: s | October 30, 2014 at 02:05 PM
When this photo first appeared two weeks ago,it was showing it in front of
Stolin on 16th ave.then a week later it showed it being in front of Munkach
On 14th ave,and now it's on 13th av.
From the get go everyone knew that this is a spoof, and no one took it seriously.
Shmaryah is either an idiot who is the only person taken in by this photoshop,,or he knows very well it is a fake, but being a pathologicalJew hater,he uses this to bash the frummies
Posted by: JACK | October 30, 2014 at 02:19 PM
This has now set a precedent.
As this is now a minhag for the rebbe of this congregation to have a parking machine in the succah, it will have to be done like this every year.
And the chassidim will also now have to follow the same minhag, and have one in each of thier own succahs. (The rebbe hot gezukt that if you don't have a poshuteh parking machine to use, you may make a cardboard copy of one, and it will still be yoitzeh. (To be read in a sing-song manner))
Posted by: BeenThereDoneThat | October 30, 2014 at 02:29 PM
For your Information they were not giving out tickets from a week before succos till isru chag, and how do I know, because I parked there everyday
Posted by: dave | October 30, 2014 at 02:30 PM
JACK –
Such a small brain in such a large immature body.
Process, asshole.
There are lots of similar photos taken every year of parking signs and stop signs inside sukkahs built illegally by haredim.
I've posted several of them over the years and several times I've had locals go to various sukkahs and confirm the pics the are real – and they all were.
Your community has no regard for the law or for civics or for your non-haredi and non-Jewish neighbors.
And try as you might to cover that up by your ridiculous stupidity, most of NYC and Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties already know this, as do most of the non-Orthodox inhabitants of the 5 Towns area.
You and the haredim you cover for are the truly an embarrassment to American Jews.

Pow, straight to the kisser. Now, can you make them go to the moon please?
Posted by: dh | October 30, 2014 at 02:46 PM
Notice how Scotty conveniently changes the subject and talks about some previous pictures of years ago that he claims are authentic, but at least he admits that this one he posted is a fake ,AND HE KNOWS IT.
Now as far as building succahs on public property i absolutely agree with Shmaryah, that it is I absolutely disgusting and is a chillul hashem and needs to be stopped.
BUT STOP USING FAKE PICTURES IN ORDER TO FACILITATE YOUR INSANE AND PATHOLOGICAL HATRED TOWARDS RELIGIOUS JEWS

JACK –
You're a moron. I published some of those pictures this year, and a number of people who saw one of those sukkahs complained to the city.
You are sick little man.
Posted by: Shmarya | October 30, 2014 at 03:24 PM
By the way, JACK, the person who sent it to me knows the picture's provenance, and if what he says is true, what you're claiming is false.
Posted by: Shmarya | October 30, 2014 at 03:26 PM
Just to be clear, this is not the same photograph that was previously published by FM right before the Sukkot holiday. The earlier picture was taken on 16th Avenue, around 46th Street. I saw the location myself and THAT picture was accurate.
The Shomer Shabbos shul is on 13th and 53rd. I didn't happen to pass it by during the holiday.
There were unfortunately a number of instances of illegal use of sidewalks, parking spaces as well obstruction of traffic in Borough Park during the last holiday. In addition to being against the law, this also presents a danger to motorists, pedestrians and especially the disabled.
Posted by: Wigmore | October 30, 2014 at 03:41 PM
Jack
what is so shocking to you. I saw a Sukkot that had a fire hydrant enclosed in it
Posted by: seymour | October 30, 2014 at 04:05 PM
This was in Stolin on 16th Avenue, I saw it. It's not a spoof.
Posted by: MO Hared | October 30, 2014 at 04:27 PM
SHMARYA--"our community has no regard for the law or for civics or for your non-haredi and non-Jewish neighbors."
yOU ARE WRONG HERE NOT ONLY DONT THEY HAVE REGARD FOR THEIR NONJEWISH NEIGHBORS, BUT THEY DONT HAVE ANY REGARD FOR THEIR OWN JEWISH NEIGHBORS EITHER THIS GUY PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY TODAY BLOCKING THE PEDESTRIANS FROM WALKING ON THE SIDEWALK THEY HAD TO GO AROUND IT BUT IT IS MY PRIVATE DRIVEWAY AND JUST PARKED IT HERE FOR 2 HOURS I THREW AN EGG ON HIS WINDOW,HERE IN BP ITS TOTTAL ANARCHY WITH THEESE MISFITS.

i davened there on succos.Thats not their succah.their succah is up all year and does`nt make any changes for succos except for scach.wrong succah.
Posted by: Kishmich80 | October 30, 2014 at 10:49 PM
Something is not making sense from the picture. The parking booth, was the succos built behind it or cuts through it? Because if it was built behind it, how could they have stapled the green poster and the sign on to of it afterwards? Or someone will tell me they were already pre-stapled? If built right through it, where are the retaining aluminum beams that are supposed to be in place to secure the wood boards above the partition and on the side?
Any thoughts for those in the construction business?

It's the new style pushka. Isn't that what the "P" stands for, lol
Posted by: Barry 1 | October 31, 2014 at 03:37 AM
I was in Shomer Shabbos yesterday. I went to see it for myself. I wasn't surprised to learn the Shmarye fabricated this story. The Succah is up but this is not a picture of it. It's a larger older white Succah with no meters inside. Then again, I'm not surprised, this story is as accurate as all the stories on this 'NEWS" website.
