A 27-year-old Breslov hasid from the Shuvu Banim sect, which is headed by accused sex offender Rabbi Eliezer Berland, drowned in an icy lake in Belgium, the Netherlands Times reported.
Nissim Levy was using the lake, located in a vacation park in Mol, Belgium where many of Berland’s followers reportedly moved to last week, as a mikva or as part of another religious ritual. He became unwell and later fell into a coma and died in a hospital in Geel, Belgium Tuesday.
Berland was arrested last month in Amsterdam’s international airport on n international arrest warrant. He fled Israel almost two years ago after several female followers – including at least one minor – alleged the Berland had sexually assaulted them. Berland moved from country to country, mostly choosing countries with no extradition treaty with Israel. He was expelled from Morocco and Zimbabwe during the past year, and South African police tried at least two times to arrest him. Berland’s followers – many of whom are themselves ex-cons – managed to hide Berland and spirit him away at last minute each time.
After the second South African arrest attempt, Berland departed from South Africa and flew to Amsterdam, where he was immediately arrested.
A Dutch court released Berland on bail pending the conclusion of the extradition proceedings but ordered Berland to report daily to a police station.
It is unknown whether Berland has kept that court order or if he is still in the Netherlands.
Mol, Belgium is less than 10 miles from the Netherlands border.
Nissim levy reportedly had a nocturnal emision that night, and based on his belief system he needed to immerse himself in a mikveh, he approached the leaders of the machzike community for permission to use there facility, and was told that as a non member he would need to pay 100 euro for its use, having no other choice, he used this lake and fell ill..............

Try the Mikveh of the Ari in Tzfat in a August afternoon or in January February.
That will shrink them real fast.
And dunk 100 times.

100 euros or not, Breslov believes that rolling in snow or ice is the way to remediate to nocturnal whatever.

From breslev.co.il:
... or, maybe, not ... maybe it's not that great of a charm

Tragic, but did he know how to swim? Many frumma don't teach their children to swim.

Even if he knew how to swim, he probably got severe rapid hypothermia, went into shock, and died shortly thereafter.
Completely avoidable had he not been the victim of hasidic brainwashing and the frumma obsession with all things involving the penis.

Perhaps a "practice dunking" would have been apropos.

A young Jew died going to the mikvah. There is no ice now in Belgium. You all have no rachmanut and can't even say , Baruch Dayan Haemet. Aren't you all worried about being judged by HASHEM ,AS YOUR SINAT CHINAM knows no bounds. I really pray that you change your evil ways of hating other Jews due to the Chasidik group that they belong to. By the way,the photo of Rav Berland is photo-shopped.Look at it carefully ,the size of his picture against the car in the backround.

Tell it to the Netherland Times - the link will take you to the article that reports the story, the date and the description of the "icy lake" etc. And under your theory, shame on all of the Netherlanders (Netherlandonians ?) or at least the Jews among them (and I don't count Berland, who is described as a "sex pest," or you) for not changing their ways yada yada yada not photo shopped yada yada yada.

Breslaver wanabee. The photograph was taken with a long lens which accounts for the perspective distortion.
Compression, long-lens, or telephoto distortion can be seen in images shot from a distant using a long focus lens or the more common telephoto sub-type (with an angle of view narrower than a normal lens). Distant objects look approximately the same size – closer objects are abnormally small, and more distant objects are abnormally large, and hence the viewer cannot discern relative distances between distant objects – distances are compressed.

DH, the Breslaver wannabe is somewhat right, in this corner of Europe Indian Summers are common, the lake was NOT icy in the literal meaning of containing ice, on the other hand it was cold enough to cause hypothermia and newspaper talk calls that "icy" rather than just "cold", the locals would have known, what was meant.

Hi ThW5, good to hear from you. I figured as much. I checked out the weather and it's in the 60s. I would consider taking a bath in that f-f-f-f-ffffreezing, though it is not really so.
BTW, do you know if he had to relinquish his Passport?

What should a poor Hasid have to relinquish a passport for???
