Pupa Hasidic Group Warns Parents: Send Your Kids To Our Summer Camps, Or Else
The Pupa hasidic movement warned parents of children who attend Pupa schools that they must send their children to Pupa summer camps. If they do not, Pupa will not guarantee the children will be readmitted to Pupa schools in the fall.
These are excerpts from a booklet of rules for two Pupa hasidic camps, Camp Kehilath Yakov and Bnos Yakov Pupa in Swan Lake, New York. I'm told it was sent to all parents before camp started.
I don't have a complete translation of these two pages. All I have is a very brief one or two sentence summary.
Please click to enlarge.
If you don't send your child to our camp, we may not readmit your child into our schools:
No t-shirts, no front zipping skirts, no denim, etc., and other modesty rules:
Mothers who come to visit their children may not drive, can't wear banned wigs or other banned clothing:
The booklet cover:
They don't want ANY outside influences to penetrate their schools. Which is not outrageous.
Best example; Look at you.

Shmaryah's little poodle dog Jancsi is barking again and licking his masters Tuches,
Hey little doggy, what's wrong with a private yeshiva camp insisting that it's students only attend it"s own camps,America is still a free country, you are not in Hungary anymore LOL.
Shmaryah,,go throw your loyal little doggie a nice juicy bone

Jack:
What's wrong with this? Only a little thing called extortion. Not much. So if you can't afford their shit-hole of a camp, then you can't be assured of a placement in their shit-hole of a school.
Obviously you graduated from one of these shit holes. So you must be a piece of shit.

If you can't see what's wrong with it Jack, then you must have been educated (for want of a better word) in such a school RL.

Hey Kocker,I guess with a name like that it is no wonder that every second word coming out of your filthy mouth is "shit" LOL,
Now back to our discussion, only a diseased mind like yours would call this extortion,I am sure you are aware that all these Hasidic schools and summer camps are jam packed and packed o the rafters and they are under tremendous financial pressure, and the camp fees help out in the upkeep of their schools, therefore they have all the right to insist that whoever wants to use their schools has to use their camps too,

Jack-shit.
That says it all. Not worth shit.
Posted by: Alter Kocker | August 13, 2014 at 01:53 PM
Hey, Jack: wake the hell up. This is indeed extortion of that rather unique Haredi/Hasidic type: if you don't send your kid to our camp he won't be allowed back in school nor probably will any other school take him and anyway when you send him to another such school you'll be shunned and your family will be ostracized and your kid(s) won't get shidduchim and your life will be thoroughly ruined. You people are no better than the Taliban or the Muslims that are trying to set up mini-Muslim states in various cities across Europe with sharia law and noone else allowed in.
Putting it perhaps a little more delicately than AK (whose sentiments I nonetheless endorse): you frumma are loathsome in so many ways that it's almost impossible to fully articulate the full extent and intensity of my distaste for what you do and what you stand for.

The tuition is not the reason why some would like to send their children elsewhere. Some simply want their kids to have a good time etc. The school gives you a twelve month curriculum to follow. They should have that right. Don't like it? Send your kids to the more liberal places like Kalisch etc.

Who is the we, you lowlife trash.?

YL, bless you. You anticipate my every need!
JACK & Alter Kocker, it is a threat, not extortion if, in fact, it says "may" not readmit. It is an attempt, albeit a contemptible one, to extort.

Why is denim forbidden? It's not loud, clingy, or transparent. It can't even be called "goyish" (Levi? Strauss? Yidden!)I don't understand.
In my neck of the woods (South Florida) long denim skirts are a wardrobe staple of yeshivah moms. Anyone know what is Pupa's objection?

You guys are funny.pupa is not forcing anyone to go to their schools or be members in their community.if u want membership and your kids to study in their institutions then you have to follow their rules
Posted by: mike | August 13, 2014 at 05:56 PM
All those rules are nice, but the big one, "Did they run background checks on their entire staff?" is just as important or even more so than their rules.

im sure most mothers who are banned from driving will just sit around when one of their children hurts themselves at camp. oh wait they dont play sports

What a sad summer camp. The total control over petty personal matters would even depress an animal. A veal calf in its crate has more autonomy than these children.
Your nightgown will be snug around the neck, of sufficient length, and long sleeved. It can be neither white nor colorful. You will bring a robe to cover the nightgown when walking in the hallway outside the bedroom, but will never be seen in that robe outside the building.
Kids who still wet their beds must still come to camp. Parents must send plastic sheets to cover the mattresses.

the murdered Yiddish grammar is upsetting.

Prohibiting more than infrequent minimal contact between parents and children ALL SUMMER (except for Sabbath parshas Bamidbar) to avoid interfering with "camp routine" pretty much ensures that concerned parents will have a hard time spotting/looking into any instances of physical/sexual abuse until its way too late to stop it.
