Anti-Zionist Haredi Terror Victim’s Family Rips Up Letters Of Condolence From Top Government Officials

Israel’s new president, Reuven (Ruby) Rivlin, sent a message of condolence to the family of Rabbi Avrohom Wallis, the young haredi father-of-six who was killed in a Jerusalem terror attack earlier this week. But the family was not happy to receive it.

Israel’s new president, Reuven (Ruby) Rivlin, sent a message of condolence to the family of Rabbi Avrohom Wallis, the young haredi father-of-six who was killed in a Jerusalem terror attack earlier this week, the haredi news website Behadrei Haredim reported. But the family was not happy to receive it.

Rivlin – whose family were prominent pioneers in the city’s Old Yishuv (pre-state community) – sent the letter through a Sefardi haredi Shas Party member to Wallis’ father’s home in the old Jerusalem neighborhood of Mea Shearim.

A source close to the stridently anti-Zionist Wallis family said Rivlin’s note and all other similar notes from Israeli government officials were immediately shredded and thrown away in the trash.

“We repeat - all [condolence] letters from the authorities that come to the family home are sent straight to the shredder,” the source told Behadrei Haredim, adding that the stridently anti-Zionist Wallis family will not take terror victim payments from the government because they are Toldos Aharon hasidim who do not recognize the state of Israel. Toldos Aharon is one of the haredi groups which make up the vehemently anti-Zionist Edah Haredit haredi umbrella organization.

Rabbi Avrohom Wallis was run over by a large piece of construction equipment driven by an Arab terrorist who used it to overturn a passenger bus. The driver of the bus, which thankfully was empty, was serious injured in the attack. Police shot and killed the terrorist.

Wallis was at the construction site near the border with East Jerusalem because he was working as an inspector for the Asra Kadisha, the haredi graves protection organization closely linked to Edah Haredit. Asra Kadisha was exposed in the Israeli media last year as extortionists who use violence and death threats to force developers, archaeologists and builders to pay it money and provide no-work jobs as site ‘inspectors’ for its members. Wallis was a sometime substitute inspector for Asra Kadisha.

Wallis’s father-in-law, who gave a viciously anti-Zionsit speech at Wallis’ funeral, is a kosher food supervisor for Badatz Yerushalyim, the kosher food supervision arm of the vehemently anti-Zionist Edah Haredit. He also frequently serves as a hazzan (cantor) on Lag Ba’Omer at the main Satmar hasidic synagogues in Williamsburg.
