Tying Tzitzit For IDF Soldiers “Work Of The Devil,” Haredi Rabbi Says
Shmarya Rosenberg • FailedMessiah.com
Students of the haredi Mirrer Yeshiva in Jerusalem have been tying tztzit (ritual fringes) on the corners of drab olive green arba kanfot (small four-cornered garments worn by Orthodox Jewish males) so IDF soldiers fighting in Gaza can have combat-ready tzitzit to wear.
Like much else haredim have done during the war, this is in part a PR stunt and in part a genuine attempt to help IDF soldiers (in this case, Orthodox ones).
But Rabbi Tuvia Novick, the mashgiach ruchani (dean of students) of the haredi yeshiva in Hadera, told his students that what the Mirrer Yeshiva students was doing was wrong. Not only that, he said it was “the work of Satan,” the haredi news website Behadrei Haredim reported.
Novick also claimed that the evil IDF would even start a new war just to get haredi yeshiva students to make more olive green arba kanfot for the troops.
Why would the IDF do this?
Because, Novick says, the IDF knows that the haredi yeshiva students will get used to looking at the drab olive green color that matches soldiers' uniforms, and this will stop them from being alienated from the IDF and from army service, and will cause some to enlist and many to stop dodging the draft.
What religion Novick practices? Judaism it ain't. Why do they call this pestilence breeding ground yeshiva?

This again proves that too much "learning" turns you into an anti-Jewish pagan idolator. Blaming it on Satan makes him sound like a Christian fundamentalist (who would actually support Israel, unlike this guy).

Wait... this guy puts out a fatwah (let's just call it a fatwah because that's what this is)... saying the army is gonna start a war to get people running to their sewing machines.
WAT?

Whatever yeshiva this moron heads should be immediately raided, the students inducted, the building razed, and the faculty sent packing. This is a school for traitors, not only their country, but their people.

Herr Novick, your padded room is awaiting. Kindly go along with the men in the white coats.

Paganistic mindset. The magic colors will make them x y z.
All the Tzitzit is for is so Jews can spot each other out. It's actually an authentic commandment of the real Torah, the spirit behind the law is so Jews can spot each other out.
But to assign magic to it and worldly life-force is earthly paganism, witchcraft, superstition, and Russian folklore...
And sitting in countries like LATVIA, Hungary, Lithuania and BELARUS telling tall tassles.. Err.. tales..
Maybe we can throw Bulgaria in there too. Bulgaria, Russia, Hungary, . the Kremlin. Hehe

Yeshiva Hadera split few months ago because Novic supported Auerbach against rabbi Steinman. Steinman and the steipler jr forbid their followers to go to that yeshiva

How do fools like this become a Rosh Yeshiva? These idiots cause so much harm.

Yahoshua David,
Until they put sky-blue dye on 'em, it's not a commandment of the "real Torah".

With all due respect to the revered Rov,
we should make him a Mi shabayrach as he
needs a speedy recovery.

What is real Torah? Whatever YOU, a simple man decides?

The Karaites actually do use blue dye. The result is an aesthetically pleasing effect. In a sense, Karaitism might be considered analogous to fundamentalist Christianity, whereas Orthodox Judaism and Orthodox Christianity are rather alIke in terms of leaning on the Talmud or Holy Tradition.
