Respectfully, It appears that he is asking them to pray for the safety of all the Jews in the holy land. The soldiers are also Jews. Therefore in my humble opinion it would appear to me that he is asking for prayers for the soldiers as well.

The situation in Israel is worsening, i have more freedom in USA in all 50 states than Israel , for the entire last 60 years less Jews have been died than in Israel each year, how right was the holy satmar rav z"l the only solution here is the coming of meshiach, it wont help bombing 500 tunnels in gaza or destroying the entire gaza, may hshem send the goial tzadek and shivi bunim shoivuvem and may hshem open your eyes to see the true.......

Praying for Israel's Jews does not include all its vulnerable citizens and soldiers. Not all IDF soldiers are halachic Jews (especially Russian patrilineal Jews). Some are Druze or Bedouin Arabs. A few are Christian Arabs. I believe the Rebbe's omission was intentional. Israel's enemies never pass up a chance to delegitimize the Jewish State.

A YIDDISHA NASHUMA--You must be mentally ill to write the way you do.your holy satmer rebbe ken kish my toches.

Some chareidi clown fails to instruct his sheep to pray for fellow Jews most in need.
In related news, the sky is blue, the pope's Catholic, and bears shit in the woods.

Moron!
Where does is say NOT to pray for the IDF?
Shramya, you are s sick man!
Posted by: SatmarNation | July 22, 2014 at 06:09 PM
With all due respect where do you see that
the IDF is excluded???
The reference to "Matzav Hakawsher" is refering to the ongoing situation , which includes the Tzahal.
Why, with the greatest amout of respect for this site, do we have to further inflame sinah and machlokes????
The "mikatrigim" have enough business , do we have to support them???
Posted by: Topsy Turvy | July 22, 2014 at 06:10 PM
Satmar Nation – you're the moron.
Halakhicly (and I do realize that as a Satmar, halakha is foreign to you) you must specify who you are praying for, beginning with the people in the greatest danger. IDF soldiers are by far in the greatest danger, yet your rebbe doesn't specify them or thank for protecting Jews or Israel.
So let me be especially clear:
Yoel Teitelbaum helped cause the deaths of tens of thousands of Jews in the Holocaust through his selfish, self-centered behavior and then, after being saved by a Zionist, refused to thank him and spent the rest of his wretched life smearing his rescuer and the Zionist state.
His nephew and successor, when he wasn't trading stock, did the same.
And his sons and successors Zalman and Aaron compete with each other over who can say and do worse things about and to Israel.
You are a member of sick, disgusting, evil cult. Rot in hell with Yoelish and the rest of that evil family you worship.

Topsy Turvy –
Rocket scientist, are you?
Halakhicly you must specify who you are praying for, beginning with the people in the greatest danger. IDF soldiers are by far in the greatest danger, yet the Satmar Rebbe doesn't specify them or thank for protecting Jews or Israel.
Stop worrying about Jewish unity Satmar itself rejects and start standing up for what's right.

Shmarya, could you point to your halachik source?
Posted by: Abe | July 22, 2014 at 06:32 PM
I'm amazed how you see yourself fit to publish a blog Shmarya, forgetting about your article which in my opinion is a complete non-story,
A commenter -presumably a member of the community you smear in this article- disagrees respectfully with the premise of the article, and instead of answering like a member of the 'civilized' community you now consider yourself part of, you launch an unprovoked and vile attack on him and his teachers, three generations back!
If you were a die-hard Zionist, and you were nervous and full of angst for your brethren in Israel, I'd somehow understand your unhinged outbreak, but for some reason I suspect you attack the Zionist leaning Haredim in Israel for every nationalistic and price-tag attack that happens with the same geshmack and gusto you now attack an innocent call to prayer,
(I don't know that for a fact as I don't read your dimwit blog often)
Your a sick unfortunate individual, overflowing with hate, you nebach need real professional help,
Your the only one I honestly consider a self-hating-Jew
Posted by: Israel Kafka | July 22, 2014 at 06:52 PM
shmarya, you write "Halakhicly you must specify who you are praying for, beginning with the people in the greatest danger. IDF soldiers are by far in the greatest danger....."
if that is the case, how can we possibly get it right to your ridiculous notion of halacha.
because you see not all the idf are in equal danger. some are media spokesman. some work in nice safe underground bunkers. some work abroad. some are computer experts far removed from danger. so to satisfy your expert knowledge of halacha and how prayers should be done we would have to identify each soldiers level of danger and mention them in the correct order otherwise it just wont work!!
luckily our rabbis are not as obtuse as you and have formulated a prayer that is all inclusive and can hopefully protect all the jewish people of israel.
how ironic that we have a role reversal. you arent happy with it as it doesnt follow your strict old school "shtetl mentality", "stuck in the dark ages" prayer - so you are the haredi. and the rabbis are the modern reformists!

And its asking to pray for ALL Jews in Israel.
There is NO Halacha's nowhere on how to word posters.
Posted by: SatmarNation | July 22, 2014 at 07:12 PM
Why do we always go out of are way to cause sinah and machlokes?; the "Matzav Hakawsher" is the fighting, the missiles , the continual distress of our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel, soldiers, civilians and all.
Posted by: Turvey Topsey | July 22, 2014 at 07:36 PM
All you Satmarers, why do you give a damn what Fat Scotty is spouting off about? Since when does Satmar care about what a fat moron says about them? Have some self respect and ignore this idiotic shit!

Shmarya---"spent the rest of his wretched life smearing his rescuer and the Zionist state."
hahahah wretched, the word is the perfect description of them the rebbe and his hopeless dupes.

amijustnaive –
Again, you show you are not just naive, but that you are an idiot.
The IDF is in Gaza. IDF soldiers are risking – and too often giving – their lives to defend Israel, and the ungrateful rebbe you are defending refuses to mention them even though halakha mandates doing so.
That you are an ignoramus and can't process this does not make it any less true.
Posted by: Shmarya | July 22, 2014 at 08:09 PM
Turvey Topsey –
Please.
IDF soldiers in Gaza and on the border are at grave risk. Your shiny pants haredi yeshiva buchers and rebbes in Bnei Brak and Jerusalem are not.
If you are too stupid to understand the difference, you're far too stupid to engage with.

Idiot.
There is no halakha on how to word posters?
Well, there are certainly halakhas on how to pray and on how to word prayer.
Perhaps if you hadn't wasted all that time studying in the cesspool Satmar yeshiva you went to, you'd know that.

Shmarya who sits blogging in his underwear all day & night is poking fun at people who wear shiny pants?
What is wrong with the above picture? Surely his pet poodle jancs will provide a brilliant dissertation outlying Shmarya's moral authority hahaha
Posted by: Fruit of the Loom | July 22, 2014 at 09:09 PM
Satmar proclamations usually slam Zionists but this one didn't
Because Shmarya is ignorant of the language of seforim he does not realize that Satmar is actually including soldiers here who are religious. Bnei Yisroel can mean to exclude non-religious unless it is being used as a figure of speech that includes anyone born of a Jewish mother.
So Shmarya is every bit the "scholar" that his Satmar readers are "rocket scientists"
Posted by: Fruit of the Loom | July 22, 2014 at 09:36 PM
I mentioned that before, some Reform synagogues in Israel (mostly Yahadut Israelit) do not say a prayer for the Welfare of the IDF. Their siddur has prayers for trees, pets, birds, artists etc but no soldiers.

In distinction to your headline, I think it was a wonderful statement from the Satmar Rebbe. Please follow his wonderful advice and Daven for Acheinu Bnei Yisrael. Better than creating dissension
Posted by: Joel Allen | July 23, 2014 at 10:04 AM
You are one trip. You are against Israel for how they treat the Africans. You're against Satmar how they treat Israel. Your against politicians how they treat Satmar.
You are one very sick excuse of a human being.
Posted by: n ' Aron d'KJ | July 23, 2014 at 12:48 PM
shmarya, you're a fool! Firstly there is absolutely no implication that this poster is asking the reader to exclude anyone from their prayers. Secondly there is absolutely no Halakha stating one must specify who he is praying for. In fact Talmud teaches us that we need not specify at all just like the prayer Moses prayed for his sister Miriam.
If you messed up and posted an incorrect article I would suggest to man up and admit it. If you aren't enough of a man for that then just delete it.
You're wrong here. Sorry.
