Hasidic School In London Fails Across The Board

The British government's education arm, the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted), report on the horrible conditions in the Vizhnitz heder in London, England, June 2014. The report finds safety and health violations as well as massive educational deficiencies. Ofsted also failed the Vizhnitz school after an emergency inspection in January.

Wow! The British government seems to have started a serious clampdown on all these failing Haredi schools. Wish they did the same in the US.

The Talmud writes that failing to teach a child a profession is akin to teaching them how to steal (Kiddushin 29a). The only profession these schools prepare their students for is how to cheat and manipulate the welfare system.

Clearly, the Talmud had a lot of foresight.

The parents who send their kids to such a school should be ashamed of themselves. In truth, they probably have no idea as to the kind of cruelty they are subjecting their children to by denying them a basic education.

The parents themselves are a product of these "schools", not that that is an excuse. If they claim to know Torah (which they do claim) then they would know that not teaching your child is inexcusable and a clear violation of Halacha as David T. mentioned above and for other reasons.
