The French Interior Ministry is considering banning the radical Ligue de Défense Juive (Jewish Defense League; JDL), Ha'aretz reported, and is currently “analyzing” its legal options.
The JDL is accused of "provoking pro-Palestinain demonstrators in the Paris area," Ha'aretz reported according to a report in the Independant.
The English-language French news website The Local reported that "the presence of charged-up JDL activists on the sidelines of recent rallies was seen as one of the reasons they turned violent, with clashes outside a synagogue on July 13 leading to a ban on subsequent pro-Palestinian protests."
While the JDL denies reports that the government is considering banning it, nurmerous reports in the French media appear to confirm the potential ban is being pursued by France.
"We are carrying out an extremely fine analysis of the law [reqired for the ban]," an unnamed source close to the case told AFP, appearing to confirm an earlier report by the leftist newspaper Liberation.
While the French JDL has provided protection to synagogues and other Jewish sites during the recent wave of anti-Semitic unrest, it is also unquestionably racist and violent.
Several JDL members in France have been convicted of violent crimes, including four JDL members who were convicted and imprisoned earlier this month for placing a homemade bomb under the car of the anti-Zionist Jewish journalist Jonathan Moadab, the JTA reported.

France should ban the Muslim Brotherhood and groups organizing attacks against Jewish shuls and businesses. Instead, they will probably scapegoat the Jews and ban the JDL.

They should prosecute Dieudonne. I am no kahanist, but the LDJ (French JDL) has been doing better work protecting the Jewish community than the gendarmes.

I think people should listen to the JDL themselves when they say they are not getting targeted for a ban. They shouldnt listen to an 'inside source' from a Ha'aretz teller of 'tall tales' that is passed off as a journalist. Is he from Latvia? Belarus? Bulgaria? Or Red, Kremlin, Bulshavist, Soviet RUSSIA?
This kind of old world folklore hurts the soul and damages peoples ability to think clearly because their emotions have taken over. They eat weird tasting home made, old tasting sausages and they fry onion with potatoe.. All pale white. They dont pre-bake the potatoes.. They put them in hard in the pan with onions. The home made sausage smells gross when you smell it cooking in person. How many here know what im talking about.. They hope and pray that they arre not offered any of that food.. They cant wait to keave the house because the smell alone is strange and gross. The sausage is NASTY.
These are the people who are dictating Jewish Thought and opinion in very recent times. We've taken on their ways of doing things and now real Jews are leaving Judaism in record numbers.
French jews are real jews who are TOUGH and can hold their own.

Amazing how history repeats itself. The Arabs are starting violent riots but the Jews are guilty because they don' run away. Are the French perhaps upset that the Jews don't retreat in the finest French military tradition?
