Arab-Israelis and Palestinians rioted into the night Saturday, stoning police, hurling fireworks at them and burning tires, Ynet reported.
Following a violent riot in his town, Qalansawe Mayor Abdel Baset Salame held an urgent meeting with school principles, town council members, sheikhs and other dignitaries and reportedly asked them to work to stop the rioting.
"In the early morning hours I arrived at a scene of rioting. I tried to calm the youths down but unfortunately I was unable to. We condemn all of these acts, and condemn attacks against Jews," Salame told Ynet, adding that while he supported non-violent protest only.
Qalansawe is popular with Jewish Israelis, and many frequently visit there. But some Jews who visited Friday night were stoned by enraged local teens.
In Tayibe, police used rubber bullets, tear gas, stun grenades and a truck of what Ynet calls “sewage water” to disperse 400 rioters. Those rioters yelled "we will sacrifice our lives and our blood for Al-Aqsa" and reportedly said they will continue fighting the IDF in the West Bank.
A car tried to run over several policemen in the Arab town but Sharon District Commander, Koby Shabtay, reportedly fired four bullets at the car's back wheels to stop it. The car’s driver fled.
In Ar'ara on Highway 65 in Wadi Ara rioters reportedly threw rocks and fireworks at police, burned tires and tried to block the main junction. One policeman was reportedly lightly injured by a stone, and one rioter was arrested for disturbing the peace.
1,000 people reportedly demonstrated in Nazareth, and about 100 teens burned tires at a junction there. A police force was working to disperse them. A main road into and out of the city was closed.
In neighboring Nazareth Illit, 200 Jews protested the riots in Nazareth.
In Kfar Yona, Jews protested the rioting in Qalansawe and attacks against Jewish drivers in the Arab village Friday night.
Besides the road near Nazareth, several other major roads in in north central Israel were closed due to the riots.
And riots took place in most Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem Saturday night, as well.
One or two Jewish children were lightly injured when the car(s) they were riding in was stoned.
Ha’aretz is reporting that 17 rioters were arrested overall.
It is also reporting that dozens of Jewish right-wing extremists attacked Arabs in central Jerusalem. Police blocked routes to the Old City to prevent the extremists from attacking Arabs there.
Once again SR writng a headline that appears to equate the rioting on both sides. It's the same moral equivalence BS that we hear all the time in the press. The only solution to this mess is for Israel to expel 100 Arabs ( animals) for every missile and or rock thrown at Israeli's. It,s high time these pieces of chit learn who is running the country!!!

Another brilliant comment emanating from one of the sages of Rockland County. They know who's running the country which is why they're rioting - kapisce?

Israel must fight fire with fire.
Start useing real bullets not fake crap.
If that doent work we just have to nuke the hell out of them.

To SML,,, At least this sage from Rockland County knows how to spell capisce you moron. If the Arabs knew who was running the country they wouldn't have the balls to act like the savage beasts that they truly are. I'm pretty certain that if Meir Kahane ztl was the Prime Minister this unruly behavior would never have started. It's primarily because the weak lemming leaders such as Netanyahu, who don't have a jewish backbone and are in control , are we witness to this open brazenness on behalf of the so called Palestinians,,, Am Yisroel Chai!!!

Imagine if Europe or the USA said that for every Jewish person that committed a crime, 100 would be expelled. I doubt you'd think that fair.

Hey sage - my typing's not so hot at 5 AM - what can I say?
More savagery isn't the answer. Are you suggesting mass slaughter of Arab citizens of Israel? That will really serve Israel's long term interests well I don't think and will probably precipitate outright war in the Middle East and sanctions from most of the West. Then you and the other right wing death-and-glory aficionados will be in your element for awhile while the corpses, Jewish and otherwise, pile up.

Fair rules apply to those who play a fair game. Clearly the Arabs do not.

Kahane Y"S supporters in Monsey who talk a big game to Israelis who actually have to face the consequences of their actions, have no part in this discussion. They are just the mirror image of Hamas. Decent people on both sides (and even half-decent people) aren't interested in their racist garbage. It's really too bad that the lowest of the low feel it's ok to exploit tragedy to crawl out from under their rock and promote violence.

SML. Please don't blame your typing. You are just an illiterate troll. Furthermore I'm pretty certain even you can ascertain the difference between mass murder and forced expulsions. If the Arabs wanna live quietly and abide by the rules great but if they want to continue lobbying missiles and kidnapping innocent citizens then they must go. kahane was right in everything he warned. To dismiss him as a lunatic and not address his points is just an act of cowardice. And for the record my sons and nephews along with many other family and friends serve and have served in the IDF. Anything else?????

To Dovid:
Thank you for your comments We are not talking crimes. We are dealing with genocidal intent. Why do we have to put up with this garbage? Why is jewish blood so cheap I. Your eyes? Where is your jewish pride? As I'm typing this I understand that a new korban has been slaughtered at the hands of an Arab driver. Forced expulsion is the answer for those not loyal to the state. No other country would put up with this. Kahana was right. Have some jewish pride
