These religious zealots are insane.

It's like each of these cults has to outdo each other in their insanity.

Every time they ban something else it makes me wonder what the hell do they have to do with judaism anyways.... The dress like polish nobility and don't bathe. Fuck em

For those who aren't fluent in Yiddish - can someone say WHY they ban these eyeglasses?
Posted by: Shlomo | May 13, 2014 at 08:48 AM
I wish the rebbes ban themselfs from this world and let us mortals live in peace,in peace from their insane edicts,
Posted by: jancsibacsi | May 13, 2014 at 09:14 AM
Glasses are goyish! Ban them outright! Then we can be entertained on shabbos watching the hasids walk into telephone poles, while wearing their "Superman Cape" tallit.

In the 1960 these were the only frames available, pretty funny. Should ban black T model Fords also.
Posted by: Steven | May 13, 2014 at 09:19 AM
now that theyve tackled this pressing concern I wonder when they'll ban arson, attempted murder, child rape and entitlement fraud.
Posted by: ah-pee-chorus | May 13, 2014 at 09:22 AM
Ban Child Rape? You would destroy their sex lives: They appear to live according to an old roman adage, for children, a woman. For love, a man but for real sexual pleasure, a little boy.

It's because Hashem made you perfect just the way you are, so nobody needs glasses <3333 :) =)

The notice refers to the separation between Abraham and Lot where the bible refers to Abraham saying
" Please part from me; if [you go] left, I will go right, and if [you go] right, I will go left"
Jews should seek to be contrarians (that is contrary for the sake of being contrary). This worked out very well in Europe.
So if the non-Jews wear metal frames, then Jews must wear plastic frames and if non-Jews were plastic frames, then Jews should wear metal.
Posted by: Barry | May 13, 2014 at 12:19 PM
Perhaps they are concerned that plastic frames are flammable.

Because they are 'MODERN.' End of story.
The letter (whose font is so small it might make me get glasses, so I'm not going to study it in more depth) even suggests that those parents who want their children to wear heavy plastic glasses because of their durability, can go fly a kite. They can buy and replace the approved metal framed glasses (suitable for sedentary adults) or they can keep their kids home from school.
Since the Squire of New Square approves setting people on fire for davening in another shul, one can only imagine what they'll do to parents who enroll their glasses-wearing children in another school.

just wondering how this ban effects anyone of you,why do you care so much if they ban such glasses, do you daven by them, stick to outing the perves and crooks, this nonsense is just stupid, this just makes me think that you only have this site out of hatred and not to inform
Posted by: Dave | May 13, 2014 at 02:11 PM
"...you only have this site out of hatred and not to inform..."
Nonsense. How else would anyone know what sort of idiocy the frumma were up to if not for sites like this one?
Posted by: S M L | May 13, 2014 at 02:19 PM
I can see why they are banned; you wouldn't want the good people of New Square to be seen walking around looking silly.
Posted by: flatearth | May 13, 2014 at 02:51 PM
great comments lol

I guess the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram doesn't 'effect' me either. The meddlesome, controlling Squire of New Square is rubbing his smelly crotch in the face of unwilling captive Jews. What's that quote about evil and people keeping silent?
Posted by: Fleishike Kishke | May 13, 2014 at 03:27 PM
I just dont understand why anyone would care, i understand outing perverts and criminals, but this goes into just making fun, which as adults is pretty immature, the thing is written in Yiddish for them to understand not the world, so its one more thing for the world to hate about Jews now, congratulations your all a bunch of petty people

These Hasidic groups are not benign. Their leaderships have evolved into organized crime. They derive much of their power from their political clout (voting block) and use coercive measures (possibly violating civil rights) to keep their people in line. Who owns the approved glasses store in New Square? How much cold hard (govt assistance) cash is the Squire of New Square wringing out of his browbeaten flock with this latest ban?
Posted by: Fleishike Kishke | May 13, 2014 at 05:24 PM
New Square men even wear the same brand and model of shoe and other clothing. It goes without saying that they should wear the same model of eyeglass frame. I'm glad this oversight (no pun intended) has now been cleared up.

Nothing surprises me about this ban.
Food for thought....suppose this Rabbi was to order his followers to arm themselves- either with knives or firearms- and then either kill themselves, or go out and kill every goyim they could find?
I wonder how many of them would actually do it. I think most if not all of them would.
Posted by: Robert J. Barron, Attorney-at-Law | May 13, 2014 at 10:58 PM
go out and kill every goyim they could find?
Please, let them try....
Posted by: flatearth | May 14, 2014 at 09:53 AM
These glasses are banned for one and only one reason. People look like friggin' monkeys wearing those plastic specs. They are laughing stock of any normal person. I am actually disgusted tovthe stage of wanting to vomit when I see these silly looking frames on already silly looking putzes. I know that most of you are so screwed up that funny/amusing takes the place of fine garments and eyewear.
Your idiocy is showing.
Posted by: Jekylljacobson | May 15, 2014 at 10:49 AM
I still don't understand why they were banned ostensibly.
Posted by: Rena Oppenheimer | August 30, 2014 at 09:13 PM
Those fanatics have too much time on their hands. If they spent more time looking for a job or doing something useful with their time, they would be less obsessed with what other people are doing. No-one has the right to tell other people how to lead their lives.
