Modern Orthodox developer Shalom Lamm’s illegal mikva and another property he owns in the tiny upstate New York Village of Bloomingburg have been slapped with new stop work orders the Times Herald Record reported.

The mikva is located in steel industrial building at 132 Main Street that Lamm wants to convert to a Satmar girls school.

The other stop work order is for a three storefront retail building at 78 Main Street. Locals say work continued there even though the  village's former building inspector had issued a stop work order. The village’s new administration issued a new stop work order because of that.

The new stop work order asks for detailed plans for the building which currently has a sign that reads, "Just a few more days to the grand opening (of) Cafe Au Main Kosher Dairy." Another of the building’s storefronts has a sign tfor Bloomingburg Pediatrics. The third has a sign for a Judaica store.

Lamm has been trying to build a 396 townhome Satmar-only housing development in Bloomingburg and has used deceptive and arguably illegal tactics to trick locals into approving permits for the project, which was first represented through a straw man as a condominium and golf course development.

"Everything is going to be inspected. Everything's got to be up to code, not just for him [Lamm] but for everybody. I’m sorry, but that's the law,” Bloomingburg’s new mayor, Frank Gerardi, told the paper.

Lamm told the paper in an email that his company would comply with the stop work orders and then work up to code when the projects are approved.

The FBI raided Lamm's properties and his local office in March and a state court judge lashed out at Lamm and Satmar for intentional voter fraud. The judge voided the votes of more than 100 residents of Lamm’s Bloomingburg properties, almost all of whom were hasidim who claimed to live in Bloomingburg but really did not. Some, however, were Lamm’s family members and Lamm himself.

Meanwhile Lamm, who has repeatedly made statements to the press that are arguably false, is appealing a Sullivan County Supreme Court judge's stop work order on his 396-unit development.

Rather than service a stop work order, the mayor of Bloomingburg should petition the President to give the Hungarian mission an ultimatum that unless they agree to the repatriation of their idiots within 7 days, he will order the US Airforce needs to drop a MOAB (GBU-43/B) on this housing development whilst it is still uninhabited.

They know about Monsey and New Square and the East Ramapo School District and they want no part of having their town wrested from them by a group of arrogant insular religious extremists. I attended a Jewish camp there 50 years ago, when things were less salubrious for Jews and there were no major incidents with the locals to speak of over the seven summers I spent there.

You'd have to be completely dishonest to deny that if the satmar plan went through, life in bloomingburg would change drastically for the locals, and not in a good way. Satmar enclaves are known for many things, none of which would be appealing to anyone unfortunate enough to be a neighbor. One doesn't have to be an anti-semite to want their town to remain what it is. And when you add in the deception involved in the whole scheme, OF COURSE the residents will be opposed, and it needn't have anything to do with anti-semitism.
