A Catholic monastery in Deir Rafat near Beit Shemesh has been vandalized with anti-American and anti-Christian graffiti in what appears to be another price tag attack by West Bank Jewish settlers and their sympathizers, the JTA reported.

“Jesus is a monkey,” “Mary is a cow,” “America is Nazi Germany,” and “Price Tag — Peace Agreement” were reportedly spray painted on the walls of the monastery in.

The tires of four vehicles also were slashed.

The vandalism was found this morning by local monks.

Jerusalem police – who cover the area located about 20 miles west of Jerusalem’s capital – are investigating.

Other monasteries and mosques have been similarly defaced in the past, sometimes along with attempts to burn down all or part of the structures.

Police rarely make arrests in these cases, allegedly due to the difficulty in finding the perpetrators.

And how is the asshole going to get caught when those in power don't want them caught? The police forces, military and courts of Israel have repeatedly shown themselves to be fully committed to settlement expansion and all the violence that entails.

Got to agree with plus google on this one. The Israeli authorities don't give a damn about catching the perpetrators. The only time they'll lift a finger is when some diaspora Jews or some oversees Christians make a fuss about Israel's vaunted religious tolerance and protection of all religions.

And let's not hear about how it's worse for Christians in many Arab countries. That's not the model to which Israel aspires is it?

trouble is AK, the current Israeli government, isn't proving too diligent at catching them. otherwise, even if they are left tied on a chair in front of the monastery, the monks can't relied on either to dispense justice.

i'm not saying they couldnt do more, but its not easy to catch these guys. the book "Jewish Terrorism in Israel " describes how these groups are made up of boys and men who know each other quite well. its nearly impossible to get an undercover inside. in many cases theres only one road which leads to where they are and they can see well in advance if there's a police car or army vehicle approaching. nobody from their settlements will rat them out so its just not easy.

And when they are caught, what happens pray tell? They are treated as naughty boys, not the dangerous racist extremists they really are.

And unlike haredim, these people have guns and the support of powerful politicians, and an army willing to look the other way. The entire state apparatus supports settlement expansion to the max and is not at all bothered by these "wild weeds" except for the embarrassment they cause.
