"Arabs out" was spray painted on the wall of a the Abu-Bakr Al-Siddiq mosque in Umm al-Fahm, an Arab village in Northen Israel, overnight, Ynet reported. The mosque’s main door was also set on fire.

Security camera footage shows three men arriving in a car, spray painting graffiti, and then setting the mosque on fire.

"We arrived at the mosque at 4:30 am and noticed a fire at the entrance. We immediately extinguished it and called the police. We're lucky that the fire did not have time to spread.…[Police must] arrest the criminals. Their only aim is to hurt relations between Arabs and Jews,” the mosque's Imam, Jamil Mahagna, told Ynet.

Hundreds of upset local residents rushed to the mosque.

Dr. Ziad Abu Mukh, who heads the Ministry of Interior’s Muslim desk, appealed to the Inspector General of the Israel Police and Israel’s interior minister, to apprehend the criminals.

“This is a crime that is repeated over and over again,” Abu Mukh said in reference to dozens of similar ‘price tag’ attacks carried out across the country and in the West Bank against Arab villages, fields and orchards; against mosques and churches; and against border police and the IDF, allegedly by radicalized West Bank settlers.

Head of Umm al-Fahm police force, Chief Superintendent Shimon Azran, called the vandalism and arson “a nationalistic hate crime.”

“…Israel Police is a national police that serves all residents of the country. We have begun the investigation and will update when there are further developments. The residents of Umm al-Fahm can rest assured that the investigation will be thorough,” Azran said.

Perpetrators of ‘price tag’ attacks are almost never arrested, even when they are caught on video.

I am appalled but not surprised. The police have not taken these attacks seriously and because they have not, democracy has been seriously damaged. If we do not stand up for the rights and protections of minorities, it is only a matter of time before the rights and protections of the majority are compromised.
These 'price tag' despicable, intolerant cowards should spend at least five years in jail - maybe longer, as an example for others in their community that such actions are unacceptable in a democratic society.

Actually I am starting to believe that it's not merely a matter of taking this seriously or not. It seems to me that benign neglect is thegov't prefered policy. No different than Putin's 'volunteers' in the Ukraine. Israeli security apparatus isn't that clumsy to fail that badly. Actually one should bring this to the attention of Jewish 'rights organisation' which officers make a nice living crying relentlessly: antisemitism and conveniently being blind to 'price tag' operations.
