Ha'aretz somewhat fleshes out the alleged plea deal the government of Israel is – allegedly – about to give Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto, the Sefardi haredi kabbalist who was caught on tape bribing a senior police officer (who was wearing a wire) and committing extortion and other crimes.
The deal was first reported by Israel HaYom early last week and is being offered to get information on another (now former) senior police officer Pinto claims he bribed. That former top cop has refuted many of Pinto's allegations, but the state seems to be hell bent on letting Pinto escape justice anyway – unless the information Ha'aretz has came solely from Pino's attorneys (which is, I think, likely):

At the end of the Arviv investigation, it will be decided whether to put [former senior police officer Menashe Arviv] on trial. If a criminal indictment is filed against Arviv, [Attorney General Yehuda] Weinstein will then decide – based on his own judgment – whether to grant Pinto any further leniency.
Pinto’s lawyers demanded all the sections accompanying the main bribery charges be removed from the indictment. This would mean dismissing charges of extortion, threatening a police officer, suborning witnesses, obstructing justice, and an additional attempt at bribery.
The heart of the indictment is a charge that Pinto tries to bribe police Brig. Gen. Ephraim Bracha. The Pinto and his wife were arrested in October 2012 for offering Bracha $200,000 in exchange for information about a fraud investigation into a nonprofit organization called Hazon Yeshaya, which Pinto headed.…
