Modern Orthodox Developer Shalom Lamm Lied To Media About Place Of Residence

Controversial Modern Orthodox developer Shalom Lamm told the media yesterday he has lived in the tiny 420-person village of Bloomingburg, New York for two years. Yet a December 30, 2013 court filing specifically says Lamm lives in West Hemstead, New York – a long way away. And that isn't all the Lamm family is doing to try to take over this small upstate New York village.

Controversial Modern Orthodox developer Shalom Lamm told the media yesterday he has lived in the tiny 420-person village of Bloomingburg, New York for "more than two years." Yet a December 30, 2013 court filing specifically says Lamm lives in West Hemstead, New York – a long way away.

And that isn't all the Lamm family is doing, it seems, to try to take over this small upstate New York village.

Lamm's daughter, Peninah Lamm Kaplansky, was allegedly registered as a Bloomingburg voter.

Is the FBI Southern District still handling this?

I called them today and was told to contact the State Attorney General.
I have some info about Lamm and residency that would make that claim worthless. But there is nobody in Orange County or NY State I would give it to.

Lamm has two daughters living in Israel.
One was married about a month ago.

Under NYS Election Law, Shalom Lamm - who has two or more residences - may choose any one he wishes to use to vote from, even if it is not his primary and even if he chooses a residence that is only a seasonal or weekend home. This is firmly established law as decided upon numerous court cases in NYS.

Thus that lawsuit is simply citing a different address Lamm lives at.

As far as the daughter living in Israel, any American citizen living abroad has the legal right to vote in the U.S. -- including in local elections, despite living outside the U.S.

Satmar has the right to buy houses and properties wherever they wish, and the current residents cannot stop them. Satmar is right and the court will surely uphold their constitutional rights.
