A member of the Sefardi haredi Shas Party’s Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Shimon Badani, reportedly attacked the Zionist Orthodox HaBayit HaYehudi Party and Israel's secular finance minister last night at a campaign stop in Beit Shemesh in support of scandal-plagued haredi Mayor Rabbi Moshe Abutbul.

Abutbul's close confidant is accused of masterminding widespread vote fraud in support of Abutbul. The evidence of fraud was so clear and overwhelming that Israel's High Court of Justice voided the election results several weeks ago and ordered that a new election take place. That new election is scheduled for Tuesday.

Last night, Badani called secular Finance Minister Yair Lapid "Amalek,” the biblical archenemy of the Jewish people Jews are commanded to kill in every generation.

"[Lapid] wants to destroy everything, destroy the world of the Torah, the yeshivas, the kollels. This is terrible, only Amalek could do this. He even pulls religious people along - I don't want to say their names - how are they following him? Idiots! Animals! Amalek is taking over - even their rabbis are following him - these rabbis are the ones really handing down the laws against the kollelim, G-d help us," Badani reportedly said, refering to the Zionist Orthodox HaBayit HaYehudi Party and Zionist Orthodox rabbis.

"We have to fight with all our might against these evil people, to fight with all our might that they don't destroy our religion, we each are personally obligated in this,” Badani continued, going on to compare the current coalition government to Amalek, as well, and citing this week's Torah portion that calls on every Jew to remember the evils of Amalek and wipe him out.

A similar statement several months ago by another member of Shas’ Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Shlomo Cohen, resulted in a media outcry and widespread condemnation across the political spectrum.

At the time, Shas attempted to qualify Cohen’s remarks then by saying they “only” applied to the leadership of the Zionist Orthodox HaBayit HaYehudi Party and not to rank and file Zionist Orthodox Jews.

But Cohen and Shas did not apologize and the attempted qualification was itself still beyond the pale.

Badani’s remarks were meant to apply to all Zionist Orthodox Jews who vote for candidates Shas does not approve of, as well as Zionist Orthodox politicians and rabbis.

These people are the true Amalek.

They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

The Amalekites were/are experts in stealth, not like your general arab people, and fight the jews from within.

As i am typing this on my laptop my hassidishe neighbor in his 40 s just a few hours ago got back from the mass gathering against the draft i was explaining to him why this is so crazy he tells he knows but still he had to go,i tell him that they are making a mockery of themselfs and all of jewry also that army service if what they truly need to snap out of thier crazed way of life he loves my internet he does shopping on it e bay stuff but he would not have it in his house o fcourse here by me its free also:)
