A teacher’s aide at the Orthodox Hillel Academy day school in Pittsburgh and her sister were apparently shot to death late last week inside their home, the JTA reported.
The bodies of 44-year-old Susan Wolfe and her 38-year-old sister Dr. Sarah Wolfe, a pediatrician and psychiatrist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, were reportedly discovered Friday afternoon in the basement of their East Liberty, Pennsylvania home after another employee of the day school called police when Wolfe failed to show up for work.
Autopsies were performed on both sisters, but no official cause of death has yet been announced.
Dr. Wolfe’s car was reportedly found Saturday morning about a mile from the sisters’ home.
The Wolfes reportedly have six other siblings, including Iowa State Representative Mary Wolfe.
Update 11:09 am CST 2-10-2014 – CNN is reporting both women were found in the basement of the house with gunshot wounds to their heads. Both deaths have been ruled homicides.
Sad. I hope they find the killers.

Is anyone familiar with Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh?
I am curious to hear whether the murders have an Orthodox Jewish connection.

I used to live a couple of blocks from where the Hillel Academy is, but I don't know if it was there when I was younger. It might be the school that a friend of mine was expelled from, for wearing short sleeves.
