Well, Santa is well on the way to being a Chassid - he already has the beard and the funny clothes.
Posted by: David | December 20, 2013 at 04:32 AM
But David, he follows a different rebbe.

Wednesday is a good day for Santa to put on his Tefillin. Its right between his mouth and his heart.

So fair is fair, when do they get to put up the Christmas lights around 770 Eastern Parkway?

Apologies to Jimmy Boyd:
I saw Shimmy brissing Santa Claus
Underneath the menorah last night
He did it like a creep
Down there to have a peep
I thought that it was f*cked up
With metzitzah, as blood seeped
Then I saw Shimmy tie up Santa Claus [with tefillin]
With his Rebbe beard so snowy white
Oy, what nachas it would have been
If the Rebbe had only seen
Shimmy mekarav Santa Claus last night

That's not all they did (good thing the guy is wearing red pants).

A friend once told me he saw a Santa decoration in a succah in Geulah, and why not? Santa looks like a rebbe. What I want to see is Chabad putting tefilin on Santana.
Posted by: bendinai | December 20, 2013 at 08:09 AM
What to make of this?
On one hand I doubt Chabad boys would approach a non-Jew to put tefillin on him
On the other hand "Santa" is wearing a wig so his head tefillin aren't sitting on his head and his arm tefillin strap is wrapped way too many times arond his forearm!

this was a really stupid idea and can only lead to resentment from christians who will be offended.

"and his arm tefillin strap is wrapped way too many times arond his forearm"
I'm sure if you were to question them, they'd come up with something in the Rebbe's sichos to justify it.

Shneerson's beard really grew out.
I thought he's busy building the 3rd Temple in Iraq? I didn't know he was moonlighting as Santa

And a freilichen Christmas to all!
I'm gonna put up my Christmas tree with a Chabad menorah on top, and little refilling hanging from the branches

A-P-C --
Honestly, I don't think this "narishkeit" will offend Christians (except those who see fit to be offended by anything and everything).
But as a legitimately observant (and proudly non-Chasidic, non-Charedi) Jew, I am offended by it. I am offended that these Chabad clowns are making a mockery of this mitzvah, which they purport to hold so dear.

This is not the real Santa, for I have seen the real Santa. He is not a caricature as that guy and he has a poinsettia garden on his dashboard. Yes, he drives a motor vehicle. All that stuff about a sleigh and reindeer is pure rubbish.
I trust you will not tease me about this.

That's great. Shows that Chabad (other than the child molesters) are human. Unlike the Satmar, who are something else.

May Mendel Clause make all your wishes for this coming year come true. May you have a dollar and a fifth of Smirnoff under your tree.

This picture is surely one of the greatest documents of late 20th/early 21st century anthropology and post-modern theology.
To you, the cultural historians and digital archaeologists of the 25th century (or whatever you call the age you live in): if you are fishing around here, please know that this probably actually happened, was probably not intended to be funny, and that some already realize the irony (but obviously not as deeply you probably do).
