'Haredi' Soldiers Win Award For Excellence

…Battalion 97, widely known as the Nahal Hareidi, won the Technology and Logistics Department award after the Department administered several surprise tests at the base. The hareidi base was found to have an especially high level of logistical efficiency, receiving a whopping grade of 99 in this category.

The candidates were nominated for the Education Award in view of the tight cooperation between the Education Officer of the brigade and the rabbis of Nahal Haredi Foundation, who accompany the haredi soldiers, in coordination with the army, from the moment they enter the IDF until they have completed their service.

This cooperation has created a unique educational program, specially adapted for hareidi soldiers, which has been very well received.

Winning the Technology and Logistics Award means that the battalion can expect an increase in funding and better equipment for the soldiers.…

Most of these 'haredi' soldiers were no longer haredi when they enlisted or were never haredi to begin with. The vast majority are ba'al teshuvas, Zionist Orthodox and ex-haredim.

The IDF and the rabbis of Nahal Haredi have been trying to hide this fact for years, and now is no exception.

…During the next few weeks, the soldiers will absorb dozens of additional hareidi recruits. According to data gathered by Nahal Haredi, in the most recent recruitment batch, between 80-90% of the recruits are graduates of hareidi yeshivas.…

Every other claim made by Nahal Haredi and its rabbis about the composition of its soldier has proved to be false. There is not reason to think this will be any different.

Speaking of the Nahal Haredi rabbis, they had this to say this morning about the award:

"This is the best proof that when the haredi soldier is taken into account, suitable conditions are provided for him in the IDF, and things are done with dialogue and understanding, he will be better than any other soldier.”

Not "as good as" any other soldier or "will be able to excel." "Better than any other soldier."

And to think, the vast majority aren't even really haredi.

Love the reasoning: "The shouldn't be required to do any of the things everyone else is required to do - but should they *choose* to do them, they'll be better at them than everyone else is!"

Eh, I can live with that.
When haredi rabbis talk out of their asses, it's typically to rig elections, obstruct justice, justify criminal behavior, antagonize people etc. This seems more offensive than harmful. Maybe it'll even help recruit some people who are on the fence in that world.
With that said, you know the haredi world is really bad when deception is almost saintly in comparison to what they usually say
