Will the tragedy that two of his siblings died of Tay Sachs make him more or less marriageable?

at least they changed the poor kid's yarmulke from avodo zore toi a normal one.

I'm glad that they regard the righteous Ms. Samuels as a hero and not as a sub-human as their religon dictates.
I wonder what Schneur Zalman of Liadi would think of this heroine's "klippahs".

dh.after reading this heart wrenching story,
is this the first thing what comes into your miserable head ?
you are nothing but an evil disgusting human being, maybe human does not apply to you
Posted by: Frum but normal | November 27, 2013 at 06:44 PM
It's one paragraph. What story did you read?
I thought it was heart wrenching that they discarded a terminally ill child (after their first died of the same disease) and denied him the love of his parents so that he could die absent that which only they could could provide, so that they could go to Mumbai and be missionaries for Chabad and continue to conceive more children who would have an enormous chance of dying as well.
I cried all day as I watched the massacre at Mumbai a few years ago. But what this young couple did I found to be miserable and nothing but evil and disgusting.
Thank you, Frum but. Yours wass exactly the response I was looking for so that I could bring this to forefront.
Carry on.

dh, five years ago, Mumbai, Thanksgiving 2008, I was at distant cousin's. Glued to Fox news. Obsessed. A nightmare. Every detail etched into my memory forever. Younger daughter didn't understand why I was more obsessed with fate of the Chabad Rabbi and his family, vs other victims. Yeah, a year later same daughter became baalat teshuvah. Never reminded her of her comment. as it were. Who knows.

In the chabad prayer book, in the grace after meal section there is a prayer 'God bless everyone in this house (הרחמן הוא יברך את כל המסובין כאן) that prayer in in all sidurim.
In the Chabad siddur there is a comment: "if there are Gentiles in the house say 'bless only the People of the Convent (בעלי ברית)'"
I wonder if they still think that the nanny has soul of a beast as the Tanya (the book not the model ) implies.
That goes with saying that the kid's grandfather rabbi Grossman is really nice guy which I am sure Shmarya will agree.
Posted by: Manuel Ferrara | November 27, 2013 at 09:43 PM
He is not actually the grandfather but the great uncle, but the media sometimes refer to him as such.
Posted by: Manuel Ferrara | November 27, 2013 at 09:46 PM
I hope she will always be safe and secure, amhaaretz, and that she will never abandon her children.
Posted by: dh | November 27, 2013 at 11:03 PM
dh, I see no inconsistency between having compassion for the victims of tragedy while also acknowledging that in life they were not angels.
Suffering a violent death doesn't make one a good person (unless one is a jihadist).

Rosenberg you lousy scum. You either include this as a feel-god story in order to mask over your otherwise vile (often plagiarized) content, or to simply trigger the comments some of the pigs over here are posting.
Posted by: John Doe | November 28, 2013 at 03:03 AM
his nanny is an angel. literally.
dh.....what is the matter with you?
at least they changed the poor kid's yarmulke from avodo zore toi a normal one.
which world do you live in????
omg dh
is it because there were animals on the yarmulke. c'mon!!!!!

"I'm glad that they regard the righteous Ms. Samuels as a hero and not as a sub-human as their religon dictates."
My understanding is that as she saved a Jewish life, she gets an afterlife (although not, of course, enjoying as lofty a status as the meanest, most child-abusing Jew).
Although it wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn there are Lubavitchers, as well as other Hasidim, who would not be even that charitable.

I don't plagiarize, little man, and the only scum here is you.
Past that, anyone can go back and look at my coverage five years ago and see that I extensively covered the terror attacks, staying awake for almost 24 hours straight and posting.
There's a sewer you live in. Crawl back into it.
Posted by: Shmarya Rosenberg | November 28, 2013 at 06:43 AM
Wow! You covered the terror attacks. How gracious of you. Did you manage to somehow make it look like it was Chabad's fault because of lack of security? Did you reference the tay sachs issue? come on we both know there isn't a decent bone in your body. Everything you do is with some hate-filled ulterior motif.
I tried going back to the sewer but with the amount of crap coming out of you, it stinks real bad. I'll have to find another.
Posted by: John Doe | November 28, 2013 at 06:58 AM
Right, it would be far better for him to leave you alone in your delusion. Who cares how many children get buggered by your holy rebbaim? The only thing that matters is that no one challenges your worldview, that you guys get to hold onto your security blanket for just a few precious moments longer.

I wonder if they still think that the nanny has soul of a beast as the Tanya (the book not the model ) implies.
She has the nefesh not of the "beast" but of the righteous gentile which has good in it and as such it transcends that of the rest of the gentiles who only do good for their own self-aggrandizement or to assuage their guilt were they to do nothing.
The souls of the nations of the world, however, emanate from the other, unclean kelipot which contain no good whatever, as is written in Etz Chayim, Portal 40, ch. 3, that all the good that the nations do, is done out of selfish motives.
[Since their nefesh emanates from kelipot which contain no good, it follows that any good done by them is for selfish motives.]
So the Gemara [30] comments on the verse, [31] "The kindness of the nations is sin" - that all the charity and kindness done by the nations of the world is only for their self-glorification...
[When a Jew acts in a benevolent manner he is motivated mainly out of concern for the welfare of his fellow. The proof of this is that were his fellow not to need his help, this would give him greater pleasure than the gratification derived from his act of kindness.
Concerning the nations of the world, however, this is not so. Their motivation is not the welfare of their fellow; rather, it stems from a self-serving motive - the desire for self-glorification, a feeling of gratification, and the like.
It should be noted that among the nations of the world there are also to be found those whose souls are derived from kelipat nogah. [32] Called "the pious ones of the nations of the world," these righteous individuals are benevolent not out of selfish motives but out of a genuine concern for their fellow.

oy oy oy! menachem shemo!
of course, but those are probably so rare, as to be non existant. no?
also, the only authorities that are able to certify them as nogah are chabadniks. no?
no matter what, they can never reach the lofty level of the crookedest chosid, no?
so much for qabboleh!
but why use nogah as representing the tzaddiqim. that's venus. anything to do with the erotic qualities of this avodo zoreh?

(1)No. As can be seen from the Holocaust, contemporaneously, and retrospectively, they can be objectively certified as such ipso facto--how else would they risk their lives to save Jews?
(2) Yes. A Jew, although he sins still remains a Jew, a descendant of Avraham, Yitzchok and Yaakov, unlike the gentile, he is full of mitzvos as a pomegranate is full of seeds.

Yes.
Malachi - Chapter 1
. I loved you, said the Lord, and you said, "How have You loved us?" Was not Esau a brother to Jacob? says the Lord. And I loved Jacob. ב.
And I loved Jacob: And I gave him (Jer. 3:19) “a desirable land, an inheritance of the desire of hosts of nations” ; a land that all the hosts of nations desire.
3. And I hated Esau, and I made his mountains desolate and his heritage into [a habitat for] the jackals of the desert. ג. וְאֶת עֵשָׂו שָׂנֵאתִי וָאָשִׂים אֶת הָרָיו שְׁמָמָה וְאֶת נַחֲלָתוֹ לְתַנּוֹת מִדְבָּר:
And I hated Esau: to push him off to a land because of Jacob, his brother. Now it is customary in the world that, if one has two sons, he selects a beautiful portion for the firstborn.
and I made his mountains desolate: They do not compare to the mountains of Israel.
for the jackals of the desert: A den of jackals.
4. Should Edom say, "We were poor, but we will return and build the ruins"? So said the Lord of Hosts: They shall build, but I will demolish; and they shall be called the border of wickedness and the people whom the Lord has damned forever.

he does. He believes the whole hodgepodge from the prophecies of old on esau that he applies to today's Christians. go figure.

he does. He believes the whole hodgepodge from the prophecies of old on esau that he applies to today's Christians.
Today's Christians are still part of the Holy Roman Empire; it is only that lately their love of zion is for the sake of assimilating us to oblivion in a Holocaust of "Love".
Either way you look at it, the bottom line is that Esau hates Jacob. No matter what Jacob does, Esau hates him. If Jacob appeases him, gives him gifts, acts towards him like the brother he is, Esau hates him even more.

As I keep saying, Chabad's aggressive kiruv policy of the past several decades has resulted in the absorption of a multitude of fringe personalities. We're seeing an example of it here. It will be Chabad's undoing.
Posted by: Jeff | November 29, 2013 at 06:24 AM
Jeff 6:24 am Nov 29
The problem Jeff is worse. The entire Chabad thing is a fringe freak show, from the Besht, thru their Alter Rebbe to their last one Rebbe Mamesh.
Posted by: Yosef ben Matitya | November 30, 2013 at 05:18 AM
Well, we could say it about all of Hasidism, really. I suppose it served a purpose, but that purpose has long since been served. The people who've romanticized it have done so to the detriment of modern Judaism.
